Our Story: A Timeline

Early 1800s - Windmills

Our family's presence in Paros dates back to the early 1800s, when our ancestors established themselves at the port of Paros through the ownership of two iconic windmills. One of these windmills remains standing today as a recognized local landmark and a symbol of our long-standing connection to the island.

1960s - Hospitality

In the 1960s, our grandfather, Spiros Kontostavlos, entered the hospitality sector with the establishment of Hotel Georgy, one of Paros' first classic hotels. The property included independent food and beverage facilities and was prominently located in the main square of Parikia.

1970s

We expanded our food and beverage operations with the opening of Yellow Spot, the island's first self-service restaurant, strategically located at the port of Paros.

1980s

Our activities broadened with the launch of Kontostavlos Travel Agency, where we operated as a central agent for ten shipping companies. During this period, we also co-developed Paros Europcar and Antiparos Europcar, and expanded our family-led accommodation portfolio with the development of Aegean Village and Parian Village.

1990s - Maritime Services

We became co-owners of the shipping company Santorini Express, operating the vessel Mykonos Express, which served island-hopping routes across the Cyclades.

2000s

We co-launched the Gregory's - Paros franchise store, upgrading our food & beverage services at the port of Paros.

2010s - Real Estate

Our family expanded more decisively into commercial property leasing and development, transforming the former Hotel Georgy into a fully refurbished complex of professional and commercial spaces.

2020s - The Next Chapter

As we continue to evolve, we remain firmly rooted in our heritage in tourism, with the planned launch of two new hospitality properties. At the same time, we are committed to supporting Paros' sustainable growth by combining tradition, local knowledge, and thoughtful development to ensure a vibrant future for the island and its community.
